THE SANDS OF THE GOBI DESERT
Take a look at some of this Japanese man's photos of the cherry blossoms.

It talks about the sky being yellow from the sands being blown to Japan from the Asian continent. Apparently, these sands come the Gobi Desert in China! The first time that I saw this yellowish gold sheen to the Japanese sky, I was mystified. If a person goes out for a walk during this time, a person gets sand up the nose and in the mouth! Thirst is instantaneous!
Japan has only one true desert and it is in Tottori Prefecture (a prefecture is like a state). This 'desert' is about 2 miles square, but there are real dunes and only sand.
